Sitting on a promontory jutting out into Dunmanus Bay is Blairscove House. Built in 1760 it is surrounded by the old stables and 4.5 acres of lawns and gardens. The ideal place to spend a few relaxing days.
In West Cork's mild climate, warmed by the Gulf Stream, fuchsias grow into huge bushes and a multitude of sub-tropical trees and shrubs just thrive. For the active the Mizen Peninsula's sandy beaches are just a short drive away and the Sheep's Head peninsula boasts miles and miles of scenic walks. Bantry, Schull, Ballydehob and Skibbereen with their festivals, pubs, shops and restaurants offer plenty of action, not forgetting the golf courses of Bantry and Glengariffe which are amongst the most scenic you will ever play.
The pace is slow, the people are friendly. Pubs are plentiful and the food is wholesome and fresh. Above all you will discover a place, quite cosmopolitan and sophisticated but at the same time unspoilt and breathtakingly beautiful.
Blairs Cove is open all year. German, French and Dutch are spoken.
